What are the benefits of registration?
The Council guides and regulates the health professions in the country in aspects pertaining to registration, education and training, professional conduct and ethical behaviour, ensuring continuing professional development, and fostering compliance with healthcare standards.
All individuals who practise any of the health care professions are obliged by the law to register with the Council. Failure to do so constitutes a criminal offence.
More importantly, registration with the Council offers you, the health care practitioner, and several substantial benefits including:
Upon fulfilment of the minimum standards, a License to practise is granted and is renewable on annual basis and a prescribed fee is payable before the expiry of the current license. However, for the Council to be able to set and project its annual strategic objectives the renewal of practicing license is done biennially (every two years). The renewal is subject to compliance with a set of CPD requirements.
