License Renewal Requirements

The knowledge needed to function effectively as a health professional continues to expand and change while customer demands and expectations continue to increase. New development in the health sector and technological revolutions require that health professionals continue to update their skills. One of the shared ethical mandates for health professionals is a commitment to competences.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provides a pathway for health professionals to maintain and develop their professional practice so that their knowledge, skills, and performance standards are improved and empower them to provide competent and safe healthcare.

In addition to the relevant prescribed fees, registrants are required to show proof of CPD and that they are actively practising before their Practising Licensing can be renewed.

Registrants are expected to have accumulated a minimum of 60 credit points as a requirement for license renewal within a period of 2 years. Contrary to this professional requirement, appropriate professional sanctions shall be imposed by the appropriate and competent organ.

1. Evidence of recent CPD (with a minimum of 60 CPD points).
